岐阜県出身。中学時代、吹奏楽部でトロンボーンを始める。大学進学後、学内のビッグバンドサークルに入部しジャズと出会い、以降ジャズに傾倒。ビッグバンドを中心に活動を展開する。

卒業後はフリーランスとして東海地方を拠点に活動を開始し、東海・関西エリアのプロビッグバンドにも多数参加。ツアーやレコーディングなどを通じて経験を積む。

2021年7月には、自身が率いるカルテットで1stアルバム『Quiet Days』をリリース。自己のプロジェクトを通じ、精力的な音楽活動を展開している。

2023年より、名古屋を拠点に活躍する精鋭ミュージシャンを集めたビッグバンド「覚王山ジャズオーケストラ」を主催。


Born in Gifu, Japan, Yuichiro Etori began playing the trombone in junior high school as a member of his school’s brass band. Upon entering university, he joined the university’s big band club, where he discovered a passion for jazz that quickly became the focus of his musical journey.

After graduating, he embarked on a freelance career based in the Tokai region, performing with numerous professional big bands across the Tokai and Kansai areas. Through tours and recording sessions, he refined his skills and gained invaluable experience.

In July 2021, Yuichiro released his debut album, Quiet Days, as the leader of his own quartet. This milestone not only showcased his artistic vision but also solidified his dedication to pursuing original projects and creative endeavors.

In 2023, Yuichiro founded the Kakuozan Jazz Orchestra, a big band featuring some of Nagoya’s most accomplished musicians. Through this initiative, he continues to contribute to the growth and vibrancy of the local jazz scene.
